Job Description

Global network and communications service provider has a requirement for a Senior Software Developer to join the team. This is a permanent role within the EMEA IT development team and requires an individual to be responsible for the full stack development, support and maintenance of internal business owned applications and data eco-systems, data analytics and communication with internal Stakeholders, Users and Management.

Key Tasks:

  • Researches, designs, develops, configures, integrates, tests and maintains existing and new business applications (UI) and/or information systems solutions including databases / webservices through integration of technical and business requirements
  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Analysis of business requirements
    • Development of new solutions
    • Maintain and support new and existing solutions; defect resolution and enhancements
    • Creation of documentation
    • Testing and release management
  • Remains current, by acquiring & enhancing technology expertise with evolving systems programming, analysis, and database technologies.
  • Individual will learn to use in-house developed tools, develop within agreed standards and design guidelines with close cooperation with the principle developer
  • Demonstrate the ability to translate and formalise complex specifications in consultation with the users and management
  • Individual will support ad hoc requests and projects as prioritised by the EMEA IT Management / Business
  • Be able to work within an agile development team
  • Individual to be self-motivated and own the end-to-end process

Senior Dev ops Engineer -London – up to £70,000-90,000

A major insurance organisation with impressive offices near the Lloyds building in the City of London is going through a major technology transformation and as a result has an excellent position available for a Senior dev ops engineer

The Senior dev ops engineer is responsible for translating business needs into technology /functional designs and developing a supportable architecture that confirms to known success patterns.

It is essential for the Senior Dev Ops engineer to have

  • Ability to architect cloud platforms and application deployment methodologies  
  • Experience with Programming and scripting  languages such as Python, Ruby or PowerShell
  • Knowledge with CI tools such as Jenkins, AzureDevops or Teamcity
  • Ability to solve Azure issues independently
  • Familiarity with containers such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • An understanding of network engineering and security principles e.g. protocols, routing, switching and firewall rules etc.
  • An ability to make important decisions and provide direction to the dev ops team.

It would be ideal although not essential for the Senior Dev Ops engineer to have
