Seeking an experienced RF Engineer with Telecom or Radio Infrastructure experience for a home-based role with regular travel to London office and occasional overseas travel to Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria for an initial 6 months contract

We have a vacancy for a qualified Civil Engineer to support Pre-Sales activities on large telecommunications projects.

Responsibilities:

● Lead and own all Pre-Sales Civil Engineering design and costing activities.

● Work with the Pre-Sales Technical Architect, Bid Manager and Procurement staff to ensure the civils design and scope of work are aligned with the overall solution.

● Verifying such designs that may be done by others, along with corresponding definition of scope of work for subcontractors. Such work elements will include tower foundations, building repairs or alterations as necessary, site fencing, site access from the road, Antenna mounting arms and all other works associated with preparing new or existing radio sites for telecommunications.

● Review all the civil, survey , and shop drawing documents which will be submitted by the subcontractors.

● Handover of Civil Engineering elements to the Post Sales Project Team Knowledge of, and reference to, appropriate national and international standards and best practices applicable to the design and implementation of the works is required.

 

Specific Knowledge/Skills:

Previous experience is expected in Light Civil Engineering, preferably in Telecom or radio infrastructure projects or similar, including Towers, Shelters, Equipment Room Remedial Work, Trenches, Tracks, Roads etc Fluency in the English language (verbal and written) is essential, fluency in French language (verbal and written) would be a distinct advantage.

The ability to clearly and unambiguously write Statements of Work for subcontractors to follow.

You should be a suitably qualified Civil Engineer, computer literate and have commercial awareness.

A Radio Design team has opportunities for driven and innovative Lead Radio Network Performance Lead to improve performance by ensuring the best possible design, configuration and optimisation.

The focus will be ensuring that the best network performance and coverage possible is obtained whilst leading a team of experienced Radio Planning Engineers.

Responsibilities:

  • Local coverage plans addressing coverage gaps & performance issues to cornerstone build teams.
  • Delivery of improvement to radio KPIs to meet regional targets and therefore improve overall customer experience through:
  • Approval of site design drawings and governance of Radio planners to ensure no delays
  • Managing concessions where required were desired design is not feasible
  • Managing Change control of additional Technologies to ensure correct final build is implemented
  • Driving operations to resolve regional RAN issues in the Access network
  • Review operating model to support delivery, accelerating where possible.
  • Justification for investment in coverage or capability to meet the performance requirements
  • Clear quantification and reporting of all benefits achieved. Suitable onward communication

Requirements:

• Be educated to an Engineering/Science degree level or equivalent

• Strong communication and presentation skills including present complex technical information in plain language

• Stakeholder management

• Ability to think strategically

• Ability to deliver to challenging targets and deadlines

• Good knowledge of 2G and 3G network architecture

• Good knowledge of Radio network functionality

• Experience of network optimisation techniques and processes

• Experience of using network statistics, networks traces and drive trialling logs to analyse and improve network performance

A new field-based requirement has arisen for a Fibre Networks Manager with NEBOSH certification to carry out the health and safety management for a Fibre Networks project in a choice of 3 locations (London inside M25, Birmingham, or Scotland) overseeing Civils. This is an excellent opportunity to work for one of the world’s most leading Telecommunication providers.

The purpose of this role is to manage the compliance of on-site works undertaken by Supply Chain partners against the planned solution, and Legislative installation standards whilst ensuring effective competence of Supply Chain Partners undertaking work on the Network.

This fantastic opportunity is also for an expected length of 12 months. This role would suit an individual that possesses strong managerial experience, the appropriate Health and Safety accreditations mentioned, and a background of hands on Fibre Network Engineering within Telecommunications.

As a Fibre Services Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Specialist you will be expected to:

• Undertake audit activities on both in progress works and completed works, checking and reporting on compliance against the agreed scope, specification and HS&E requirements and the competence and qualifications of those undertaking the works.

• Drive best practice and supplier performance both through the ownership and management of rectification of non-compliant works found during audits and the analysis of wider compliance reports to identify shortfalls and improvements required.

• Support project delivery through site attendance and reporting on progress, compliance and competence and drive and confirm subsequent rectification completion.

• Where assigned and competent to do so, you will also undertake specialist direct works on the Fibre Network as required.   

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

• NRSWA accredited to assess on site compliance against chapter 8 of New Roads and Street Works Act

• IOSH, Construction Skills Certification Scheme accreditation or similar

• NEBOSH accredited

• Full UK driving licence.

• PC Literate.

You will be part of a newly formed, infrastructure team looking after over 5,000 employees and 75 different hospital and care homes within the UK. Working with predominately window base technology, the client is looking for experienced 3rd line support engineers to help formulate the new team and provide excellent service for their end users across the country.

The client is looking for the following experience:

  • Experience as the 3rd Line Support Engineer or as a mixture between 2nd/ 3rd line support
  • Experience on troubleshooting/ querying a variety of issues on window services/ operating systems from windows 7/10/xp and window servers 2008/2012
  • Experience in working on Windows infrastructure tools/ systems such as Active Directory, Group Policies, Powershell and similar deployment/ infrastructure troubleshooitng skills
  • Familiarity on applications/ deployment systems
  • Good written/ verbal communication skills
