We are currently working with a highly prestigious London based NHS Trust seeking to add a Senior Catagory Manager to their procurement team on a 1 year fixed term basis.
The successful candidate will have expertise in a broad range of clinical categories; and an in-depth market knowledge of suppliers, products and services within local, european and global markets. TA proven track record within the clinical field, and demonstrable abilities in clinical stakeholder engagement and significant evidence of achievement in savings identification and delivery. The role also requires an in depth knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply the principles of EU regulations and the ability to plan and deliver high value complex procurement.
As the Senior Category Manager you will be required to provide expert knowledge to support the development of the category strategies and Cost Improvement Plans. The successful canddiate will need to be able to engage with the markets to maintain strategic advantage, as a means to obtaining greater value for money and improved savings delivery.
They will be supported by Category Managers and Assistant Category Managers in ensuring all expenditure is compliant, will provide and maintain catalogues that represent agreed supply arrangements for the trusts. A transactional procurement team will be responsible for providing spend data and for maintaining the procurement catalogues and ensuring all goods and services are requisitioned and ordered in line with Trust policies.
This post is responsible for leading on the delivery and implementation of the procurement strategy for the Head of Operational Procurement.
The position falls into Band 8A under the current Agenda For Change Payscales.
