Seeking a Test Engineer for an initial 12 months contract to join a Global Financial Technology Company based in Dublin.

Job Overview:

This position will be responsible for driving best practices for exploratory and automated testing within teams to deliver applications and solutions that meet the needs of our stakeholders, including consumers, merchants, issuers and governments.

Role:

- You will be driving the  Automated Quality/Test Strategy development, Integration testing, User journey automation, Cross device, Release sign-offs, etc.

- Coordinate and participate in requirements review/story elaborations and testing activities to deliver high quality products and incremental value with every iteration.

- Review project test and implementation schedules. Document test plans and acceptance criteria using Rally.

- Develop test scripts and perform automated and manual exploratory testing to ensure software meets business and security requirements and established practices.

- Own responsibility for end-to-end product quality including: defect management and oversight, status reporting and metrics creation, and escalation for issues discovered during the testing phase

- Develop business and product knowledge over time, document and share such knowledge to mentor new team members.

 

All About You:

- Experience testing across a variety of platforms: web and mobile user interface, web service and REST based APIs

- Expertise in software development to build and use automation frameworks using technologies: Visual Studio/IntelliJ and C#/Java are highly desirable, JUnit, Selenium, BDD Framework, Spring framework/.NET, REST, JSON and XML.

- Demonstrated experience developing high quality test strategies and test execution – specific focus on cross device testing.

- Ability to create good acceptance and integration test automation with Continuous integration (Jenkins/Bamboo) and code coverage tools (Sonar, Clover).

- Expertise with agile testing methodologies and tools

Well, our client who are a globally finical company is looking for a Senior Software Engineer for a 12 month contract. As Senior Software Engineer you would be responsible for leading day to day system development and maintenance activities of the team to meet service level agreements (SLAs) and create solutions with high level of innovation, cost effectiveness, high quality and faster time to market.

Major Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for the analysis, design, development and delivery of software solutions. Define requirements for new applications and customization.
  • Accountable for full systems development life cycle including creating high quality requirements documents, use-cases, design and other technical artifacts including but not limited to detailed test strategy/test design, performance benchmarking, release rollout and deployment plans, contingency/back-out plans, feasibility study, cost and time analysis and detailed estimates.
  • Conduct brownbag sessions on new and upcoming technologies, methodologies and application appropriate frameworks. Ensure knowledge transfer of vendor technology to staff. Provide technical training to the other team members.

Experience and Skill requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Broad understanding of Software Engineering Concepts and Methodologies.
  • Must provide the necessary skills to have a high degree of initiative and self-motivation to drive results.
  • Possesses strong communication skills -- both verbal and written – and strong relationship, collaborative skills and organizational skills.
  • Willingness and ability to learn and take on challenging opportunities and to work as a member of matrix based diverse and geographically distributed project team.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Software Development Engineer to join a global financial company to build the next generation Digital Identity on a global scale to be cloud native. This is a 12 month contract with the potential to become permanent and is based in south Dublin.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the analysis, design, development and delivery of software solutions
  • Defines requirements for new applications and customizations, adhering to standards, processes and best practices
  • Designs and develops applications, system to system interfaces and complete software solutions, performs vendor-related activities, and creates documentation such as user guides and software development guides
  • May manage medium-sized project/initiatives
  • may formally supervise a small team, and assigns day-to-day work - Oversees and provides technical support to junior team members

Requirements

  • Experience of leading or small team or mentoring junior members of staff.
  • Exposure to different programming languages - Java and Goovy is essential
  • Experience with building and deploying app via CI/CD, experience with Jenkins
  • Working knowledge of  Cloud Tools such as Docker, Puppet/Chef/Salt
  • Working knowledge of orchestration engines such as Kubernetes.
