Job Description

IDPP is currently recruiting for QA Manager to join a company that provides technology and network services to many of the UK and Ireland’s largest and most mission- critical operational systems. From Public Safety to Defense, Transport to Service Provider – when it matters most, they deliver. Role Profile:

  • You will be a key advisor and specialist supporting the business in the maintenance and management of system requirements for the acquisition, supply, design and development, operation and maintenance of computer software and related support services.
  • You will implement and assist in the continual improvement and specification of quality assurance requirements for these areas to ensure the integrity of any software development, configuration and testing requirements and the information technology services provided to Clients
  • To ensure that all software development projects have an adequate systems approach that is suitable for the application of the project or product.
  • To provide assurance to ensure the integrity of any software development and testing requirements and the information technology services provided to Clients.
  • To manage the software development management systems
    To design and deliver an effective assurance plan for products and projects.
  • To advise on alternative approaches for systems development and assurance recognising the scale, scope and application of the product or project.
  • To interface with client acceptance representatives to ensure cost effective and successful acceptance of products and projects.
  • To keep company requirements and processes for systems development and assurance reviewed and up to date to meet the changing requirements of the business.


  • Software Quality Assurance experience
  • Working knowledge and preferably experience in implementing software development controls and assurance
  • Knowledge or experience in systems engineering with demonstrable software design capability
  • Experience of designing and delivering performance monitoring and measurement processes
  • Understanding of enterprise architecture models
  • Educated to degree level in computer science, information technology or related discipline or relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of appropriate standards such as ITIL v3/ISO20000-1:2011/ISO90003:2014
  • An understanding of ISO27001 and cyber/network security requirements would be advantageous

Typical Deliverables:

  • Audits to address the requirements of Software development and COTS solution adoption
  • Support the roll out of the requirements in other parts of the organisation as necessary
  • Suitable risk control development and proposal.
  • Updated systems assurance processes and recommended software testing protocols.
  • Setting and monitoring of assurance targets.
  • Design of technical specifications and requirements for new systems or improving existing systems.
  • Support the maintenance of the management system requirements to ISO 20000-1:2011

My client provides technology services to many of the UK and Ireland’s largest and most ‘mission critical’ operational systems. They are looking for a result orientated 3rd Line support Engineer to join their team.

About the Role

The role will involve providing general 3rd line IT support to a range of public sector and blue light emergency services customers predominantly on a Microsoft platform.

As a 3rd Line IT Engineer the role will require a strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and technical skills based background using various diagnostic tools.

In addition, strong inter-personal skills are required to guide customers (both internal and external) through situations (over the phone as well as face-to-face), providing resolution to incidents and ultimately reach customer satisfaction.

Communication is a key skill to enable the management of faults through incident, change and problem management.

An experienced Solution Architect is required by an IT Managed Service provider, for a large IT transformation programme with an Enterprise client in Manchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the architecture and design of key enterprise solutions across a range of technologies, but with main focus around IT Infrastructure and Cloud. The role will require the ability to support and influence key stakeholders and product owners to ensure architecture strategies are understood, supported and delivered.

Knowledge and Experience Required:  

  • Proven background as an architect / lead designer of technical solutions, for major technology implementations. Extensive experience developing, mapping and maintaining a technical architecture using a recognised methodology, e.g. TOGAF.
  • Detailed technical knowledge spanning systems & infrastructure, and cloud. Some knowledge of CCTV platforms would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge and communication of innovative, cutting-edge and emerging technology trends and solutions, ensuring that the business is able to make effective use of new technologies
  • Experience of developing application, cloud and infrastructure transformation / migration strategies and plans
  • An ability to provide architecture expertise & guidance to the senior technology team, advising on possible solution sets and opportunities to increase capability
  • Be comfortable managing fluid requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.

The contract will run until April 2019, with possible extensions thereafter.

Service Desk Analyst / 1st Line Support Engineer

Leading IT Managed Services business is looking for a Service Desk Analyst for a customer site in Manchester. The role sits within a busy team, supporting the customer in line with SLAs in an ITIL environment.

Responsibilities will include:

  • 1st line Desktop Support
  • Dealing with service calls, emails and web tickets in an appropriate manner; logging, and directing to the correct team in accordance with SLAs. Recording all interaction, and ensuring they are dealt with as effectively as possible
  • Take ownership of all incidents and service requests ensuring they are logged, prioritised, categorised as appropriate leading to effective diagnosis. 

To be considered candidates must have strong technical skills around Windows 7/10, Active Directory, Office 365. Communication skills, ability to work under pressure and knowledge of ITIL principles is also important.

This is an initial short-term contract until the end of the year, with possible further project work available in January.
