Job Description

Our client is seeking experienced IT Developers that are responsible for building high quality, innovative and full performing systems that complies with coding standards and technical design expectations.

This would be an onsite role based in Lancashire.

They would like to speak to established Developers with a willingness to be flexible over languages and tools used, have a desire to learn and develop their skills and who have experience of:

  • Java – Particularly Spring Boot
  • Messaging technologies including Mulesoft, IBMs Integration Bus /Broker & Websphere MQ
  • SQL – query development
  • Data structure design, relational database data modelling
  • Strong data Analysis skills
  • Data structure design, relational database data modelling
  • Python; SAP Data Services 4.2 (optional); SAS Dataflux 
  • Knowledge of source code control tools such as Bitbucket, Jenkins;
  • Strong application design skills. Must be able to document solutions clearly, accurately and present them successfully to both technical experts, business analysts and managers.
  • Knowledge of FCA Remediation programmes e.g. PPI, would be an advantage
  • Application integration skills
  • Knowledge of Enterprise level applications – e.g. distributed, support and maintenance, monitoring, security, resilience, user training & support, business processes
  • Ability to mentor other staff (either junior or those not familiar with the technology) / validate solution design (even when might not be in a familiar language or being developed by a third party)
  • Overall good technical skills
  • Familiarity with any of the following packages would be advantageous
  • Experian Powercurve; RSA fraud solution; Financier – Account Management solution; SAS MDM

About You:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and identification of solutions, both short-term fixes and tackling the root-causes of problems.
  • Application testing at unit, integration and system test levels.
  • Flexibility to meet agreed deadlines, provide timely resolution to assigned problems and occasionally unsocial hours working for code deployments or in response to high priority production incidents.
  • The ability to provide realistic and accurate estimates for the completion of assigned tasks.
  • Demonstrate empathy with user needs and requirements – the ability to understand how best to deliver what they need rather than just what they ask for
  • Ability to vision the long terms goals/roadmap but at the same time deliver short term solutions / benefits
  • Ability to adopt new technologies/packages quickly with minimal formal training
  • Drive and enthusiasm
  • Excellent time management
  • Good communication skills
  • Good presentation skills (written and verbal)
  • Experience in JIRA, Confluence and Sharepoint
  • Experience of Agile system development methodology and adherence to departmental development standards.
