Job Description

My client is a leading mission-critical mobile telecommunications company. They are looking for an Infrastructure Architect, with Unix/Linux and Microsoft/Windows experience. The purpose of this role is to provide Technical Architecture support capability, across a wide range of IT Infrastructure initiatives in support of the existing IT Infrastructure Architecture function. The role will be based in Rugby, Warwickshire. 

This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.

Monday-Friday, office hours.

Car allowance of £521 per month.

About You

Suitable candidates for this role will have a proven track record in the design of IT Infrastructure. You will have  detailed knowledge of Hardware infrastructure design (Servers, Routers, Switches, Storage Arrays; Authentication Systems; Web Filtering; Firewalls; Proxies, Virtualisation Technologies; Load Balancing). 

You will be self-driven, results oriented, with a pro-active approach to work.  You will have  strong communication skills, with excellent experience of establishing, and developing, cross business and external relationships with key stakeholders. 

Key Skills

  • Strong IT Infrastructure Architecture skills
  • Sound Understanding of IT technologies including: Unix/Microsoft O/S, Oracle RDBMS, IP network design, Routing protocols, firewall capabilities, HP Product set, Cisco product set, F5 load balancers, VMWare, MS Azure.
  • Experience of capturing and refining complex business and system requirements.
  • Excellent documentation, analysis and presentation skills
  • Experience of system testing
  • Excellent problem solving, planning and decision making capabilities
  • Working knowledge of IT security requirements.
