Desktop Support Engineer (2nd Line)

Location: Glasgow

Salary: £130 per day

Days: FT Monday – Friday 

Contract Duration: 3 months

Desktop Support, Windows 7/8/10, Active Directory, Customer Facing, IT Services.

A leading IT Managed Services business requires a Desktop Support Engineer based in Glasgow. The Engineer will deliver various IT support services at the customer site, focused around resolving IT problems, configuring PC’s, installing, upgrading and replacing core hardware and software. Other responsibilities will include: assisting project teams for IT implementations, installations and upgrades; and asset & warranty management;

To be considered, candidates will have:

  • Proven experience in a 2nd line Desktop Support capacity.
  • Experience providing support both by phone and deskside.
  • Experience of call logging & reporting in an ITSM tool preferably Service Now.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and MAC client operating systems as well as various software packages including Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Technology including AD, SCCM.
  • Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices (iPhone) and other products
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical problems with enthusiasm.
  • A flexible approach and good team working skills.
