Security Information Risk Analyst

My client an IT services Company , they are currently recruiting for a qualified Security Information Risk professional who is keen to provide security risk management support of one of my client’s national infrastructure projects.

The main contract includes a major technology transformation programme in addition to general maintenance and management of the network; The transformation programme comprises of 11 technology projects, including the introduction of new wireless and IP CCTV services, new management systems and the next-generation upgrade of all technology.

 

About the Role:

Reporting to the Enterprise Architect you will be responsible for providing security risk management support to the Programme Manager. This will include:

  • Making security information and risk recommendations based on latest government policy and industry thinking
  • Conducting risk assessment workshops and managing the resulting documentation
  • Managing risk treatment plans through the project lifecycle
  • Working with the technical and project teams to ensure that designs meet project security requirements at the relevant phase of delivery
  • Applying Information Security Management System /policies where applicable to all Transformation projects
  • Advising Project Managers on security policies and processes to be followed
  • Providing support and/or mentoring across the NRTS Security Team as required

Skills, experience and qualifications required:

  • A professional security qualification, preferably CCP Senior Practitioner
  • Experience of providing advice to a range of stakeholders on industry security standards, best practice and HMG policy (Cabinet Office Security Policy Framework, HMG Security Classification Policy, ISO/IEC27001:2013, Cyber Essentials, NCSC Guidelines and Principles)
  • Preferably experience of HMG critical national infrastructure projects and security assurance procedures
  • Strong Security Risk management background including a good knowledge of risk management methodologies / strategies
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Demonstrable experience of managing multiple stakeholders, projects and initiatives with limited supervision

About the role

The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, build and ongoing support of projects with a significant focus on Network Security.  You will be able to demonstrate your expertise in this field and will also qualify for security clearance to be considered as a potential candidate.

You will also support the Sales and Presales teams to provide the technical expertise required to close sales opportunities. This will typically involve technical presentations, solution demonstrations, solution design/configuration, proposal and bid response documentation.

Typical Deliverables

  • To act as a technical lead within the customer account for both internal and external requirements. 
  • To act as an internal technical escalation point and to be able to mentor/coach internal resources to achieve a higher level of service.
  • To act as a the last line technical lead to resolves technical problems, either design or support related problems. To take a lead where required in root cause analysis to drive issue resolution and limit impact to the customer.
  • To assist principle engineers in the development and demonstrations of new solutions both internally and externally.
  • Ensure time sheets are accurate and submitted weekly. Incident call updates, where required, are accurate, timely and meaningful.  Overtime and expenses are completed and submitted accurately.
  • Handling and protection of telent information and reporting of security incidents as defined in the Information Security Policy and the HR Information Security Policy.

Main Skills Required

  • Any Specialist level security certification CCNP-SEC / JNCIS or IP-SEC.   
  • Design and operate experience.
  • In depth knowledge on firewalls, IDS, IPS and Encryption.
  • Experience in NAC, particularly ISE or Aruba ClearPass.
  • Product experience ideally covering Juniper SRX, Cisco ASA.  Palo Alto firewalls, Bluecoat devices with Checkpoint experience being an added benefit.
  • Exposure or understanding of SIEM platforms.
