Security Engineer- £50,000- Car Allowance

My client provides IT services to many of the UK largest and most ‘mission critical’ operational systems. As a result of an increase in their client base they are now recruiting for a result orientated Security Engineer with experience In depth knowledge on firewalls and excellent product knowledge.

About the Role

The successful candidate  be the most senior technical resource to resolve highly complex technical design or service issues that cannot be resolved through the normal operations and maintenance procedures and provide leadership for root cause analysis and work closely with the Technical Design Authority and the other technical resources.

You will support the Sales and Presales teams to provide the technical expertise required to close sales opportunities. This will typically involve technical presentations, solution demonstrations, solution design/configuration, proposal and bid response documentation

Main Duties

  • To act as a technical lead within the customer account for both internal and external requirements. 
  • To act as an internal technical escalation point and to be able to mentor/coach internal resources to achieve a higher level of service.
  • To act as a the last line technical lead to resolves technical problems, either design or support related problems. To take a lead where required in root cause analysis to drive issue resolution and limit impact to the customer.
  • To review and report on specific customer incidents and to manage customer expectations. To add value and highlight trends within the call data.  Ensuring escalation and feedback drives a high level of performance.
  • To assist in the build and design of Proof of Concept scenario.
  • To help in the creation of test type documentation and test scenarios.
  • To attend, as required, the following customer facing meetings, support reviews, project based, monthly service reviews, weekly incident reviews.
  • Be an expert in the required Technology for your section. Create and deliver: technical presentations, solution demonstrations, solution design/configuration, and proposal development.

 Key skills

  • Any Specialist level security certification  (CCNP-SEC / JNCIS or IP-SEC)
  • Design and operate experience.
  • In depth knowledge on firewalls, IDS, IPS and Encryption.
  • Experience in NAC, particularly ISE or Aruba ClearPass.
  • Product experience ideally covering Juniper SRX, Cisco ASA.  PaloAlto firewalls, Bluecoat devices
  • Exposure or understanding of SIEM platforms

Senior Rail Network Design Engineer

As a result of a healthy project pipeline, our client is now recruiting for a Senior Network Design Engineer to join their Rail Engineering team. Operating as part of a collaborative team working on an array of diverse projects, the Senior Network Design Engineer will provide skilled IP networking, telecommunications and transmission knowledge enabling:

  • Design of green field IP networks and modifications to existing IP & SDH networks
  • Design of Voice over IP Networks for Voice Concentrator renewals
  • Create implementation plans for site works and integration testing
  • Create cutover plans for transition into live environments 
  • Provide handover documentation to management centres
  • Update of Telecoms design platforms

 

Deliverables include:

  • Produce designs in accordance with the Rail Engineering Plan (RPR000001)
  • Reform reviews to verify designs are compliant to contract technical requirements
  • Creation of design packs in accordance with design rules
  • Use of the NRDT, CRAMER, CAS, OSS and CCMS2 tools for design input
  • Ensure designs are risk assessed in accordance with CDM obligations
  • Produce Bill of Materials associated with designs to support implementation phases
  • Provide technical support to implementation teams
  • Produce as-built documentation 
  • Report against programme to relevant Project Manager

 

Experience:

  • Detailed working in a network role, preferably design
  • Experience of SDH transmission network design, preferably recent.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum HNC/A level, technical degree desirable.
  • Cisco CCNP (Desirable)
  • Membership of engineering organisation (IET etc). desirable.

This is a fresh permanent opportunity due to growth, working for a stable and innovative infrastructure communications company remotely as an Installation Design Engineer.

We are seeking an experienced Installation Design Engineer who has previous experience to date of producing installation designs for core IP network/transmission equipment. This is not the actual installing role, it is producing the design documents for the installation of equipment.

The type of equipment involved will be Radio (RF, Distributed Antenna Systems), Digital TV, Public Address and Voice Alert systems, Wi-Fi network, Terminal Equipment (desk telephones, wireless APs, CCTV cameras, sound and light Beacons. This means we need an experienced Installation Design Engineer within Telecommunications who understands telecommunications cabling, infrastructure, and products; Someone can produce the required engineering designs, who has the necessary experience and essential skills to carry out the listed responsibilities below;

Skills, Experience, and Ideal Qualifications

  • Demonstrable success in producing detailed designs
  • Strong team building skills
  • Technical knowledge of a wide range of telecommunications products and solutions
  • Telecommunications industry experience
  • Experienced in the production of complex design solutions
  • Experience of producing 2D and 3D models using AutoCAD software
  • A proven understanding of the: Telecommunications cabling, cable management and cable infrastructure, Installation of telecommunications equipment
  • The use of Excel, Word and Visio.
  • A general understanding of network design
  • Degree or HND/HNC in and engineering related subject or experience working in an Installation Design environment
  • AutoCAD experience – certification desirable but not required
