Case Studies

Our team at idpp specialises in providing tailored project and resource solutions for leading clients, demonstrated through successful case studies that highlight our commitment to high-quality results and consistent support.

“I was the Programme Manager for a project known as ‘One Desktop,’ which involved a full desktop upgrade across the entire group, including a complete transition to Office 365. idpp acted as the primary partner, providing resources for deployments (desktop engineers/floorwalkers) and technical expertise and consulting (architectural, licensing, migration process). Approximately 25 resources were involved in delivering the programme, which was completed on time and within budget, and has been labeled as the best IT/business impact project ever in MAG. idpp was key throughout this period in finding quality resources that could fit with the MAG team, meet the stringent security requirements of an airport, and deliver quality work when challenges arose.”

Programme Manager

MAG is a leading UK airport group, owning and operating Manchester, London Stansted, and East Midlands airports. MAG employs over 6,000 people and serves over 55 million passengers per year. MAG aims to become a global leader in airport management, products, and services. MAG also includes the commercial property division, MAG Property, which has over £640 million in investment property assets across its four airports and has a 50% investment in the £800 million major Enterprise Zone development, Airport City, at Manchester Airport. MAG’s shareholders comprise Manchester City Council (35.5%), IFM Investors (35.5%), and nine other Greater Manchester local authorities (29%). MAG needed an IT services supplier with the expertise, experience, and capability to support and understand the different shareholders, act as brand ambassadors, and provide an excellent, value-driven, trusted service for an ever-growing leading airport group.

Challenge

MAG is a major contender in aviation and wants to maintain its position as the best airport group. To do this, they require a supplier who can adapt to their growth and understand their shareholders, as well as the split between private and public sector cooperation. MAG needed a partner rather than just a supplier across all IT functions. To become a global leader, this partner must be a business that truly understands what excellence looks like in their sector and can adapt and grow with them as needed.

The idpp team has guided MAG in solutions and taken the lead on more complex elements.”
